Amanda Reece is a senior engineering and operations consultant with more than a decade of experience delivering technically robust, people‑centred solutions across the built environment. With a background in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and a BSc (Hons) in Engineering and Business Management, she brings a rare blend of technical depth, operational clarity, and inclusive leadership to every project.

Amanda specialises in lighting design, including ecological‑specific lighting, where she integrates environmental sensitivity with engineering performance. Her experience spans Section 278/38 developer schemes, ecological lighting strategies, highway improvement projects, and night‑time surveys, ensuring safe, sustainable, and future‑proof outcomes for clients and communities.

Amanda has become known for her ability to bring structure and assurance to complex environments. She applies Lean Six Sigma, governance frameworks, and operational improvement methodologies to help organisations reduce risk, strengthen processes, and build high‑performing, psychologically safe teams.

As a registered STEM Ambassador, Amanda is committed to inspiring the next generation of engineers. She delivers outreach sessions across schools and colleges, promoting engineering as an accessible, creative, and rewarding career path. Her outreach work reflects her belief that visibility and early encouragement are essential to building a more diverse and confident future workforce

Amanda is also the founder of Women Lighting Professionals, a growing community dedicated to elevating women across the lighting industry. Under her leadership, the group secured a formal partnership with the Women’s Engineering Society, expanding its reach and impact across the sector.
